BLD NEWARK MEDICAL MISSION

General Announcements:

 Accommodations are limited. Priority will be given to medical professionals and 4-day volunteers on a first-come-first-serve basis. A security deposit     (non-refundable) may be required by the hotels. The estimated cost for hotel accommodation will be more or less 2,500 pesos/room. More details to    follow.

Transportation Options/Details:
  • There are numerous flights between NAIA in Manila and Bicol International Airport (Daraga, Albay). Each volunteer has to book their own respective flights. Please check the airline websites for more information (Philippine Airline, Cebu Pacific and Cebgo). Average round trip fare is about 5,000 pesos. Flight duration is about 1hour and 10 mins.
  • There are also flights between Cebu International Airport and Bicol International Airport. Please check the respective airline websites for details. Flight time is about 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  • Group transportation from Bicol International Airport (Daraga, Albay) to Sto. Domingo Albay and back will be arranged. Volunteers who cannot join the arranged group transportation will have to make their own travel arrangements such as public transportation at the airport. Travel time from the airport to Sto. Domingo, Albay is about 40 minutes.
  • There are multiple pick up times on February 11, 2024 Sunday from Bicol International Airport based on flight schedule of multiple airlines. Pick up time will be at 7:00 am, 11:30 am and 6:00 pm.  On the return, from Sto. Domingo Albay to Bicol International Airport, pick up date and time will be on February 16, 2024 Friday at 4:00 am, 8:30 am and 3:00 pm.
  • There is also option to travel by Bus from Manila to Legaspi City that is about 12 hours. Multiple bus companies service this route. Average one-way fare is about 1,200 pesos (Business class). These are the major bus companies that service the Mania-Legaspi route. Please check their websites – Cagsawa Bus Co (preferred)., Philtranco Bus Co., DLTB Bus Co., and Penafrancia Bus Co. Should you choose this route, you have to make your own travel arrangement and recommend to leave Manila at the latest Saturday night 2/10/2024 to get to Sto. Domingo, Albay early in the morning of Sunday 2/11/2024.
  • It is one hour travel time between Sto. Domingo, Albay and downtown Legaspi City.
  • It is about 20 to 30 minutes travel time between Bicol International Airport in Daraga and downtown Legaspi City.

    WAIVER AND RELEASE

    WAIVER AND RELEASE For and in consideration of my application and admission to participate in the coming Medical Mission to be held on or about Feb 12-15, 2024 at Sto. Domingo Albay Philippines, I hereby commit as for myself, my executors, administrators, heirs, next of kin, and assigns as follows:

    (A) FULL RESPONSIBILITY – As a volunteer I understand and assume full responsibility for the possible risk of bodily injury known or unknown, death or loss of property resulting from any incident/accident, including but not limited to kidnapping, assault, terroristic threats, and any illness or diseases which, while in the course of discharging my duties could occur as a result of participation in this Medical Mission.

    (B) WAIVE, RELEASE, AND DISCHARGE – I hereby waive, release and discharge from any and all liability, including but not limited to, any and all causes arising from commission or omission, negligence or fault of BLD Newark/ BLD Newark Foundation, its officers and members, for death, disability, personal injury, property loss or damage, or actions of any kind which may hereafter occur to me including payment of medical cost due to hospitalization, physicians’ bills, and transportation to and from the venue of this Medical Mission.

    C) INDEMNITY, HOLD HARMLESS – I indemnify, hold harmless and promise not to sue the above-named organization or any persons acting in its behalf, or any persons mentioned above, from all liabilities or claims made as a result of participation in this Medical Mission. I acknowledge that the BLD Newark/ BLD Newark Foundation, its officers, members and volunteers are not responsible for the errors, omissions, acts, or failures to act of any party or organization conducting this Medical Mission.
